Squash

The way I see it, squash is the most underrated vegetable out there. I was having a discussion with one of my friends today, and he is planning on making some sort of squash cake. I don't see why you would make squash into a cake. It is good just how it is, what is the point in trying to make it act like a fruit. There is no point. So, if you want to bake a squash, how do you do that, I don't really know. My mom has always just put it on the table, and I took it for granted. Is it good enough to just put it on a cookie tray or whatever and stick it in there? I think I'm going to try to make squash when I figure this out.
